Drawing from the tradition of figuration, Samson's latest paintings continue to grapple with irresolvable questions of the metaphysical and the existential, as well as ideas of mortality and transience. Interweaving classical conventions with contemporary sensibilities, he constructs images imbued with symbolic, spiritual and social resonance.
